It’s just a North American myth that “difficulty” is a prerequisite for success. More often than not ‘difficulty’ is a matter of perception. Sure, hard work gets you places – but hard work need not feel like “difficulty.” Hard work can be filled with a sense of “ease” when fueled by passionate, inspired, enthusiastic attitude that leads to the same in behavior. Anyone who has ever known being “in the zone” will tell you it’s the result of hard work and discipline – but it doesn’t feel “difficult.” If you think success means always trying to swim upstream – then you already have the wrong attitude and are going in the wrong direction. And then of course, it’s going to feel “difficult.”
