It’s my turn! 19 years and still paddling, thank you Lord for this blessing! I am truly grateful to all those who have donated, supported, contributed, and prayed for my trip to the 2014 ICF World Championships in Poznan, Poland. Thanks to Ja B Deg, Connie Rayna, ICEA (Howard Chen), TC, LACDPW, FAPWEA, Household of Faith, Team DPW, Skittles, co-workers, family, friends, and relatives for your donation. Team USA won 3 silver and 1 bronze medals plus the Nation’s Cup Award. We may have not stepped at the Top of the Podium but we have represented the Country well. There is no doubt that the competition was tough and it will get tougher as the sport matures. No doubt that Team USA will continue its quest to be at the top. Thanks to the Team USA West Coast Region paddlers. We have developed a special relationship outside of our own clubs and local teams. I hope to coach or paddle with you again someday! Thanks to Aditya Kadam, you inspire us all and please continue to guide us, brother. A special thanks to Raymond R. Vinole!!! You are something. Lol!! But thanks for allowing me to share my talent to this team. And thanks for buying me a unitard. Ha ha ha. It is easy to make a national athlete…. give them a paddle, a boat, a daily workout program, train him for a few months and he can be a bad ass paddler. However, it is not easy to make a national TEAM! Discovering athletes from all around the US and place them all in the same boat with limited time to paddle together is a tough task. Kudos and thanks to Coach Mike Blundetto for taking on this task and making it a good one. Lastly, thanks to my wife and kids for all their sacrifices and for allowing me to spend time away to prepare for this competition! Go Team USA!!! Nathan Salazar Dragon Boat USA
