It’s nearly 3 years today since I landed in Kabul, Afghanistan and continued my journey as an OFW. A journey which started in Kuwait to Iraq to Qatar then Afghanistan. And today, my journey in the desert has just ended here in Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan… and I must say “mission accomplished”! Not only is my desert journey has ended today, but also my being an OFW of more than a decade. It is now time for me to finally come home and embrace my being a wife and mom; which is something I look forward to for the longest time. Today, I am closing one chapter of my life which I will always look back with a smile on my face. A chapter where I met a whole lot of amazing people whom I already consider as part of my life’s treasure box. I will also be forever grateful for the tremendous amount of blessings I received throughout this journey, both in my professional and personal life. But more than anything, is the experience I gained on this journey … how it made me the kind of person I am today and how I look at life in general.
