It’s not always possible to ride the trails you’ll be racing - TopicsExpress

It’s not always possible to ride the trails you’ll be racing on - although if you sign up for our Fling training weekend you can do just this (yep shameless plug) – and it can make race day a little daunting when you don’t know what to expect in terms of terrain, except what you read in a review or hear from someone who’s ridden it before. Comments like ‘those rock gardens were huge’ or ‘ that single track was was so technical’ can leave you panicking as to whether you’ll be able to ride, let alone race, the course at all. A tip we love came from marathon rider Jenny Fay during a video series she shot with us a couple of years ago. “My biggest tip is for single track. If you don’t know the track, keep your gears light and easy, so no matter what may be around that tight corner, you’re ready for it.” Weve tried it and it works. Check out the video series below and you can pick up a few more tips and tricks. Plus we also think its important to keep this in mind - everyone exaggerates!
