It’s nothing if not nippy out Friends. We’re sitting at 37 right now and they’re saying we’ll be seeing a light snow tomorrow morning. Yup, it’s getting to be that time of year! Weren’t the naked trees outside covered in beautiful fall leaves just a few short days ago?! It’s been a busy week here at the PD. Monday morning our officers were called to a suspicious circumstance in the parking lot of Safeway where two men were arguing in a vehicle. After contact, it was found the men were in a stolen vehicle to which they had switched out the license plates. As though that weren’t enough, the truck wouldn’t close due to the enormity of stolen items packed inside. Luckily, the owner of the vehicle gave the officers the go ahead and the vehicle was searched. An estimated $7000 in stolen merchandise was located inside the vehicle. Among the haul were 32 Xbox One and PS4 games that were still in the plastic lock boxes. When asked who they belonged to, one of the EWCU (Easter Washington Criminals Union) members claimed they were his and he’d recently purchased them. The officer then asked if he had a console to play the games on…to which the EWCU member replied, “I haven’t had the money to buy one of those yet.” Hmmmmmm…smells fishy if you ask me. But hey, what do I know. Either way, the two of them will be spending their holidays in the Silver Bar Hotel. I doubt Santa will be visiting their lovely 6x8 accommodations.
