It’s official! In partnership with Mayor Sly James, Kansas City, Missouri has officially declared December 12, 2014 ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Day’. This has been created to support Operation Breakthrough in its mission to aid children living in poverty in Kansas City’s urban core (1 in 4 kids in Missouri are living in poverty). This day, officially proclaimed by Kansas City Mayor Sly James, encourages local residents, organizations and businesses to donate food, toys, money, time, and cheer during this holiday season. ►► kcsweaterparty This official day (Dec 12) coincides with the 10th Annual The Ugly Christmas Sweater Party being held this year at Tower Tavern on Dec 12, 2014 (tickets on sale now!). All proceeds will directly benefit Operation Breakthrough. We encourage you to don your finest, most festive ugly apparel and join us in supporting this local cause. Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Day is free to participate in! And you dont have to come to the party to participate! Every business, resturant, bar, retailer, big or small, can have an impact and help support Operation Breakthough and you can do this in your own way. The city is encouraging you to get creative with your ideas! For example, on Dec 12, you could host a “ugly sweater day” at work where all employees or your department donates money to be able to wear an Ugly Sweater to work for the day (similar to things like ‘Jeans Friday/Day’).
