Wet and windy Edinburgh made it very difficult at Litton Slack, even getting to the start line competitors struggled, match boxes were nearly all crushed on the start line. Inevitably this made a long queue back to the top entrance. I was passenger for Keith in Henry Allens` Buckler and I filmed which could be a first cockpit eye view of Jenkins Chapel aka Corkscrew in the restart box…in fact I had time to study the flora and fauna in the restart box. Camcorders were the size of a shoe box with batteries heavy as a brick in the last century, and needed plenty of them. With the Jenkins reinstated this year, I’m sure in 2015, with the miniature cameras/phones more footage will be seen from the same spot. Pity the weather couldn’t have been the same as the day after the event on Sunday when cleaning the Buckler and Racecorp. No need to go to Specsavers, it’s the VHS slipping. Have tried all methods and the last resort is to put in the boil wash and hope that it shrinks to make the tape tighten on the cogs.
