It’s time to dig those running shoes out of the closet and get in shape for the Seventh Annual Allen Eagle Run set for Saturday, Dec 28, 2015, starting at the Allen ISD Athletics Department across the street from Allen High School. The Eagle Run features a competitive 5K race as well as a Fun Run. Participants will be able to register online for $20 until Feb. 6, 2013 at midnight; registration increases to $25 from Feb. 7 – 24. Day-of registration will be $30. The Fun Run starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K follows at 8:30. Also enjoy the festival-like sponsor area with samples, activities and costumed mascots. The Run is expected to host more than 3,000 participants this year. The Allen Eagle Run is partnering with AHS students in the Eagle Edge marketing class to offer silicone wristband pedometers for purchase. They are available in navy blue, red, and pink for $9 each and can be ordered along with registration. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age category; children age 11 and younger receive a participation ribbon. The Foundation For Allen Schools and the Allen Council of PTAs sponsor the run benefitting student and teacher scholarships.
