It’s with absolutely heavy heart I must put up my mare for sale. We’re in the process of moving back home to Texas in the next month. We had every plan to take our two horses with us, but today my mom had a heart attack. My family is in Texas, and all that is here is my mom, my nephew and I. I’m scared if I don’t move her back home ASAP, I might not have her around much longer. So I am selling my mare to use the money to move my mom back home sooner in hopes being around all her kids, and grandkids can boost her morale and make her fight to stay on this earth longer. Katie is a 17 year old Registered Bay Missouri Fox Trotter mare. (Previous owners didn’t keep up on her papers, so I don’t have them). She’s a been there done that kind of mare. Used mostly for trail riding (has been all over Colorado, Kansas & Missouri). Also spent many years as a show horse. She’s a in your pocket type of horse, she acts more like a big dog (she comes to her name and kisses/licks you like a dog) loves to be rode and go on trails. Good with dogs, but takes getting use to new animals. She’s definitely the alpha mare. Wormed and had hooves done last week. Very easy keeper, she is EXTREMELY smart. Can’t be disciplined harshly or she will quit on you. She takes care of her rider. (I had a bad riding accident last year on another horse, Katie immediately came to my side and stopped) Known to have had one foal in the past. Asking $2500, I really just want her to go to a loving, forever home that we always thought we would be. We are VERY attached to her. Would love if her new home would keep me updated on her. I don’t have a video of her, I haven’t rode her in over a year due to a bad accident I had on another horse. My confidence riding has been shot, and I’ve been scared to death to get back in the saddle. But if seeing a video of her would improve her chances of finding a good home I’ll do it. I’ll do anything to help my mom. Located in Kingman, KS
