Ive already faced some ethical and social dilemmas due to my pescetarianism. Day to day when I feed myself, it is pretty close to vegan but occasionally I have to eat some cheese or chocolate or I am going to die. I am not giving up Sushi, I know that fishing is destroying the planet, but we are all doomed so whatever. I havent eaten a fish yet, but you can bet I will. Now, a work thing, where for Xmas where a world class chef is going to cook animals for the whole work place. Should I abstain? I think not, here is my justification: The animal is going to be slain regardless of my decision to eat it or not, in this instance my choice has no effect on the well-being of this animal. Furthermore there are children starving in Africa and I am a rich white middle class prick if I turn down a five star meal, which will exist regardless of my involvement or not, because I feel sorry for the turkey.
