Ive already shared this but Im sharing it again with a certain context. To all those who either pretend that helmets are for children and those that insist they are safer riding against traffic...in both instances presuming that they can avoid disaster, this videos sudden impact makes it clear how utterly stupid they are. Although Ive never hit a deer on my bike, the two crashes I did have were just as sudden as this. There was absolutely no way to brace myself,or get out of the way. This is at 28 miles per hour. If youre just a casual rider, riding say fifteen miles per hour, on the wrong side of the street...against traffic... a car approaching you at just thirty miles per hour means you approach each other at forty five miles per hour, almost twice as fast as this crash. Now, assuming you have common sense and can clearly deduce that the impact will be too fast for you to ever avoid...why on Earth would you want to increase the speed of the crash? Both my crashes involved things other than cars thank God, yet even at just over twenty miles per hour they were instant and just as fast occurring as this video.
