Ive always been a Dixie Dregs fan and admired Steve Morse. 30 years ago when this song came out I was enamored with it, but never truly understood the complexity of thought and technique required to conceive of something like this. 30 years later, I revisited this and I am FLOORED by the concept of an Evolving Arpeggio....a living chord of melody that flows effortlessly through a passage of music. There are many great guitar players....choose your flavor. And while I could never call ANY guitar player The Greatest, I can say that this is one of the Greatest Melodies Ive ever heard. Listen to the conclusion of the main riff that dissolves into an ascending and evolving chord and comes back in with a another in the middle section. Few people will understand its subtlety of statement or depth of expression. I even missed this one myself. ENJOY!!! https://youtube/watch?v=PB3CPoXc8l4
