Ive always been mystified when I hear or read so many people discuss that theyre originally from this Euro country, or are half this, quarter that and 1/8th something else. Ive never been able to participate in such convos and, the odder thing, even if I could mention relevant locales, it wouldnt mean anything to the llstener. Why, well, blacks in the U.S. are just like whites, educated in, primarily Western Euro tradition. While we are familiar with the same things that you are (Italy means this, Germany means that, Irish means this, France means that) anything related to Africa is a big mystery.
