Ive always loved the first day of school. What child doesnt love the smell of their new school bag, or the look of their shiny new shoe? I did! My only wish is that parents and students would place that much enthusiasm and emphasis on school and school work all throughout the year. We must remind our children of the reason behind school, so that in the middle of the school year/semester when theyre drained and frustrated, and the shoes have lost their gloss and the bags are no longer brand new, theyre still excited about school. They would have understood by then the importance of education. With that said....may the Lord bless all the students, teachers and parents of Dominica. May angels walk through our classrooms and keep us from harm. May lessons be learned and lives changed. - Thankful to my mother, grandmothers and aunties for providing what I needed to succeed. The tangible and intangible :)
