Ive attended church numerous times in my life. Ive wondered plenty about God, Jesus, Heaven, as my experiences and family have been steered towards Christianity and the Lutheran church. Ive gone back and forth in my belief, and been confused plenty of times, to the point of just believing in energy, the universe, and while not naming it, a higher power of sorts. Not quite atheism, but I can understand how someone could easily accept that. I can also understand how prayer can be misunderstood, and thought of as pointless, religious bullshit, begging someone for help that may or may not exist, may or may not hear you, and then in the absence of any action or proof, pointing fingers of proof towards the sky and saying SEEE!!?!?... Well, Ive prayed. Ive prayed because a pastor or my mother has asked me too, Ive prayed in the dark because Ive felt helpless, Ive prayed for both people I love and people I dont, Ive prayed for animals, Ive prayed to get things .. And Ill be damned, but this blows my mind open. Simply and concisely written, this idea has been in a dusty corner of my mind for a long time. Prayer is a feat of strength. An act of compassion and understanding. Prayer is focus, and most importantly, prayer is love. Thank you, King of Partying.
