Ive been a rather upstanding citizen of Longview for some time now. I was stopped by DPS Trooper Tower a while back for no seatbelt. Definitely a reason to be stopped.Upon approaching me to determine my ID the first question wasnt for a DL and Ins. rather: How many times have you been arrested? Is that good policing? Do you think Ill ever respect him on scene? Is that what is taught in the academy? How many other people get asked that question? Now I understand his motive. He was not going to garner a response worthy of a ticket or even provoke me to lash out in anger. I spoke positively and was given a verbal warning. Upon entering back into my vehicle and driving off down the road he was given a proper catholic and baptist blessing from these lips of clay. Now, Mr. Tower is not a representative of all police, but shouldnt he be. There are low down dirty politicians, judges, preachers, people in general, but those with guns & badges on the side of the road? All should be held to a higher standard, if it were up to my vote every police on duty would were A/V equipment. This would protect them and us.
