Ive been asked by a few people lately how I clean up the outside of games as I figured I would share a few tips. If this is considered inappropriate mods can delete. Every cleaning kit should contain 99% Isopropol Alcahol Q-Tips Distilled Water Lift Off (Goo Gone if you cant find Lift Off but Lift Off is better) Mr.Clean Magic Eraser Emery Boards Sharp small knife Paper Towel Before you take care of any markings on the cart clean off any sticker or sticker goo. To do this use your sharp small knife to very carefully peel the sticker if it is gripping too much and looks like it might rip lables etc then try to use the knife to cut off the top layer of the sticker once that is done use a small amount of distilled water on the tip of your finger to slowly dampen and remove via rubbing the rest of the sticker then use the lift off to clean off the goo, Then try to clean up any burn marks if they are there on the cart, for this take your emery board and very carefully and gently grind out the burn marks and smooth out any bumps in the plastic from the burn. Gentle scraping with the knife tip can be used to clean out any black that is in a cavity from a burn. Next is just cleaning the surface of the cart for this I recomend taking a paper towel with a bit of the alcahol on it and wiping of the cart cleaning off any dirt/lift off residue on the surface then using a magic eraser with a bit of the distilled water to clean off the whole cart but be careful not to use too much water and have a cloth or paper towel ready to clean off any excess water. The magic eraser is incredible it will clean off some odd spots that nothing else seems to touch but most importantly it cleans off marker and pen marks without damaging the cartridge at all. Always make the magic eraser your last step in cleaning as they will shread apart easily if you have anything for them to hook on while rubing the cart with them and they do require a decent amount of elbow grease. With any luck with these tips you beat up cartridges should look almost as good as new or at least a hell of a lot better than they did before. As a final note never EVER try to use a markers to try to cover up white spots or other marks on labels it wont work and 99% of the time will make you label look worse than it did before.
