Ive been called out, and Im NOT accepting the #ALSicebucketchallenge. To be clear - I am donating to ALS research - but I would like to take this challenge to another direction. I challenge folks to examine their selves and the privileges they have that other people do not have. I challenge you to acknowledge three parts of your identity that affords you privileges that are denied to others, AND/OR donate to organizations that are working to make sure that EVERYBODY are afforded the same privileges - to make ALL OF US EQUAL. Hopefully, this will improve our understanding of ourselves, while simultaneously improving our collective awareness of privileges, inequality, and injustice. Hopefully, this helps to make us become more aware of our connections with other peoples, while also helping to eradicate ALL FORMS OF INJUSTICE AND INEQUALITY. #KnowYourPrivilegeChallenge I humbly encourage - I challenge - Kevin Nadal, Timea M Webster, Don Rearden, Elizabeth Medicine Crow, and Mao Tosi to serve as examples and role models for our communities and acknowledge your privilege.
