Ive been coaching a client on her presentation and she keeps saying haitch instead of aitch. Its a bit of a problem as she talks a lot about HR. Ive asked her not to do it, but she struggles to remember and I think its because shes not convinced that its a problem. While Im a great believer in people being themselves and I would never coach someones accent or dialect out of them, I do think that haitch has a village idiot sound to it and certainly doesnt go with the expert image that Im trying to get her to portray Is that me being a snob or do you also recoil when you hear haitch?
