Ive been debating the last couple of weeks if I want to keep my facebook page. Its just my personal opinion but I think the whole FB scenario is starting to turn people against each other. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but someone told me recently because no one SPEAKS to anyone else any more (its all done through texts or facebook posts) It allows us to interpret what we think it means and make assumptions that may not even be true. I am guilty of this myself. What has happened to the family unit? Its all too real. you see families at restaurants, in the super market, at the movies, etc., and they all have there faces buried in their cell phones and no time to actually speak to each other. I do not exclude myself because I am guilty of this too but Im not sure that I actually like it. With the recent events that have been going on with the young man that was shot, FB has become a breeding ground for hatred. One side is busy trying to prove that the police were wrong the other side trying to prove that the young man was a trouble maker before any of this and Its just become so painful to see, to read. I too allowed myself to make my opinion public by posting it on FB but now I dont know if that was the right thing to do because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we could all debate about this for years to come but I feel that with all the FB posts and media attention again we have allowed technology to lead us in our thoughts and opinions. I prayed about this and this is what I have gathered through my thoughts. We have not allowed ourselves to sit back and look at the Big picture. There is a tragic situation going on in our country right now. People are looting, police officers are having to gas, shoot, taze to maintain order. Its not a black/white issue its an issue of following rules, guidelines, and laws that have been set forth to maintain order in our society. These rules should be exercised by ALL involved, from law enforcement down to the civilian. I see people, families, business owners, etc. being hurt by all of this. When do we stop it all? What will it take for us ALL to use compassion and respect toward our fellow man?? We are living in troubled times where social media, media, and technology reign supreme over what we used to call simple communication before we had all the fancy computers and gadgets. I can not speak for anyone else but Im scared. Scared about how we have allowed these things to take over. What happened to family time? Where did it go? https://youtube/watch?v=pEQAie8ABLE
