Ive been doing a little experiment with different amounts of soil amendment for mashua this year. I have some growing in our native clay, some with sand to improve drainage, and some with varying amounts of horse and duck manure. They are all growing at about the same pace with similar characteristics, except for the plant that is growing in a pile of raw duck manure. Thats the leaf on the right, compared to a typical large leaf from the rest of the plants.
