Ive been getting lots of messages lately asking for advice about working out while pregnant.... here is my Top #5 #1. LISTEN to your body-- if youre sick, barfy, and exhausted.. dont push it. Just be smart. It really isnt the time to stress about not going to the gym--growing humans takes a lot of energy. #2. if youve always been active, youre not handicapped now.. you can still maintain the relatively same level of activity unless you are like, an elite athlete, in which case... you can probably still do more than a normal human. If you have NEVER been active... then start with walking and upper body weights... and why did you wait until now to start exercising???! #3. as you progress in your pregnancy-- you probably want to cut out any running, jarring activities... but lets face it, you probably wont be able to or want to at that point, so its sorta common sense. No box jumps please. #4. Skip crunches and lying on your back for ab work. Abs can come back after your baby is safe in your arms #5. refer back to #1. just listen to your body... oh and maybe your doctor too... if youre high risk... only listen to your doctor... not me.
