Ive been getting tons of messages, from beginner-level producers who have been producing for anywhere from 2 months, to 3+ years, asking how long it can take to make it in this industry. I keep having the same thought when I read these messages; everyone is expecting results too quickly. The stress they put on themselves to make it hinders their creativity and experiencing the fun in making music. They give up too quickly because they arent good enough in 1, 2, even 5 years. I started 8 years ago, and I did it because I loved it, nothing else. I never thought Id be where I am today. I didnt see any external reward from it for 6 years. The reward was having the time of my life creating something, and 99% of the time no one heard it. Dont make music to make it big, make music because its the only thing you ever think about doing. Its an addiction for me. So many want to be the next big thing, and are forgetting just to have fun with it. Go for the gold, but focusing on that alone will show in your work. Theres no formula to making it. Keep making music for the love of it, NEVER GIVING UP. This was crucial for me, and it worked out.
