Ive been gobsmacked by the landing of the tiny Philae space probe on a comet these past few days. Its incredible that after 4 billion miles, a tiny satellite touches down on a rock in the middle of space just 4,000m across. We landed on the moon in 1969 and at times I wondered if some of our curiosity had faded. Not so. Its great for the human condition - and to be reminded just how small we are in the bigger picture.
