Ive been grappling a bit with something in my head for a few years, and I think something finally clicked this morning. I believe I may have even posted about it on another occasion. Over the years Ive had many friends aspiring to do several things in their lives, and I have stood on the sidelines and observed. Weve all been out and seen persons dressed in outfits which have us wondering if they have any friends. Weve all (for instance) heard people auditioning on American Idol and DIgicel Rising Stars, and we instinctively think, No way this person has good friends or family. Lol. But, Ive been awakened this morning by the reality that people need our support, not our criticism. People need to know that someone is in their corner. Not to say that if Im directly asked I would not give my honest opinion on their pursuit, but, unsolicited criticism or advice is unwarranted. My philosophy for a while now has been, if you like it, I LOVE it, cause thats what YOU want for yourself. It does not affect me in any way, shape, or form, unless I allow such botheration, and that would be purely on me, not the other party. If it offends my eyes, I close them. If it offends my ears, I turn it off. I am the one with the power to filter what I want in my experience, and they in theirs. My role is to offer my complete support for their happiness and wellbeing. So...Im getting there. Im a work in progress. :) Have a great day!
