Ive been guilty of this myself in the past. Now, when I see things heading down a bad road, or even just not down a great road, I shift gears and move on. I have been fortunate to have a lot of amazing in my life, and I refuse to settle for mediocre or good enough at this point. I have one thing to add to this. We often say its easy to make excuses or blame some one else. I beg to differ. I think thats much harder than actually taking accountability, pulling yourself up, refusing to settle for less and fighting to become a better person. Yes, it requires a lot more effort. But the life is so much more fulfilling and empowering. Living in a world of being an imaginary victim of circumstance is awful. Its defeating, exhausting and depressing. So yes, the self empowerment route is harder to do. To accomplish. To maintain day after day. I would say the self defeating model is much harder to live with however. And once youve tasted the power inherent in your own soul to drive forth and do great things, youll understand just how bitter and awful the taste of excuses become.
