Ive been hearing a lot of anti cop rhetoric lately by Monday morning quarterbacks who get their information from slanted news stories. Many stories demonstrate the biases of reporters, their publications, and their editorial staffs and are reinforced by people who either have agendas or arent aware of what really went down. Many people believe everything they read in the press. You know, the same press that never shows any bias about anything, right? Uh, huh. Because of the growing anti police sentiment that Ive been reading lately, often voiced by people who I wrongly thought would want all the facts before passing judgement on a whole profession, Im re posting this note I wrote a few years back. The note relates how size, drug induced insanity, and other factors are often part of the equation, an equation that the media and public often fail to understand or even try to understand. It demonstrates that when a person is in a maniacal state of mind, he is often devoid of fear, possesses super human strength and feels no pain. It doesnt matter whether hes a runt or a giant. But the only people who really know this are those of us who have engaged in a street fight with one of them.
