Ive been hearing a lot of people talking negatively about the ALS ice bucket challenge. Personally I believe that the challenge should not be done as a way to get out of giving money to the cause, because that would be hypocritical. If you are going to do the challenge to raise awareness of ALS (which is what the ice bucket challenge is supposed to do), then open your wallet and give. Isnt it interesting that before this whole challenge thing came up on social media, that there wasnt much talk about it. Seems like it is working, because EVERYONE is talking about it now. Furthermore, Im pretty sure that those who are talking negatively about it dont have anyone close to them who are suffering from this horrible disease. Im pretty sure that if it hit closer to home (someone who was a friend or in their family) that they would be singing a different tune. Just like anything else, as long as it doesnt affect us personally, we tend to ignore or criticize it. Just my 2 cents.
