Ive been hearing that the GOP is going to run primarily in the 2014 elections under a main platform of Repeal Obamacare. Unless they can get enough Republicans and crossover Democrats to get enough votes to override a Presidential veto, Obama can just veto any bill that might adversely impact his legacy So likely any such action will have to wait for a President (of any party) that agrees to get rid of the ACT to really do anything. Unfortunately by that time there will be so much entrenched in the economy that repealing it would get rid of all the insurance coverage that was established , causing disaster like now of loss of coverage, and disrupt the health care alliances that agree or refuse to accept the ACT will have to totally rewrite their software and insurance acceptance policies. The insurance companies could then step in and hike up rates substantially with the explanation that this was necessary to invent new policies and make up for lost $$$ under the ACT. And of course cancel policies for the sick or astronomically increase those rates. The answer to all this? If an alternative plan using the future existing networks put in piece by piece, leaving the good, fixing the bad. No one has offered a serious proposal according to the latest rounds of interviews of GOP leaders. Thoughts?
