Ive been home for about 2 weeks now and I really miss my guys. I miss you being squirrels, I miss checking on you, I miss you asking 100 questions, I miss your little quirks. I just miss everything about you and I love you all. I cant wait to get back to work. You guys are my family. Some of you Ive been with since you graduated from the academy. I was there for your first arrest, marriages, first child, first dog, just everything. All of you are great and will go far in your career. Its more than just a job and we dont do it for the money. Ive seen my guys escort a lost elderly woman home out of the kindness of his heart. Ive seen my guys change tires even though theyre not obligated to. Weve shielded children when parents were arrested and made them feel comfortable. My guys have fed children out of their own pockets. My guys dont see color. They see problems and they find a way to fix it. They dont want recognition. They only want to do the right thing and go home to their families at the end of the day. They deserve that and much more. I thank you for your service.
