Ive been home from the hospital for a couple days, but not feeling much up to checking facebook. Many have asked for an update, and i very much appreciate all the concern. I was having massive stabbing pains every 5 to 15 seconds or so, and on the second day of them i felt i should go to the emergency room. Once there they admitted me immediately and put me on morphine, which i dont like at all, and honestly it didnt really touche the pain, just made me care less about it. a CAT scan was ordered which was clear, and so they wanted to do a spinal tap. Their concern was that i might possibly have a leaking blood vessel in my brain, and the tap would reveal it if i did... luckily, that was clear as well. BUT, the after-effects of the spinal tap were horrendous... the worst ive dealt with since my surgery in 2001. I have a decent tolerance for pain, but sitting or standing up leads to instant explosions in my head, neck pain, and massive nausea. I have to stay on my back a lot and keep hydrated while my spinal fluids replenish themselves. Ive noticed marginal improvement, and can actually sit to type for a short period for the first time since the procedure.... but, my head is pounding now, so im gonna go lay down. Ill be better and back up to my old tricks sooner than later, I assume, based on what everyone ive spoken to that has had a spinal has told me over the last few days.
