Ive been hoof rasping! Loving these new rasps too. Sharp or what- wow! - so the job is 10 times easier now than with my previous and obviously serious blunt jobs! This job was done later in the day so I wasnt at my best strength wise either especially as our Simple Systems Horse Feed early-winter order had arrived - and thank you very much to the company delivery too - which I dutifully shifted from out doors to store first. After that I wasnt up to heavy duty rasping, thank goodnes for these new bad boys! It was Pete and I doing the biz at teh yard this morning but then Ann did her usual stuff this afternoon so that is how and where I clawed back the time to hoof trim. Just 4 left to do now and ive caught right back up. tomorrow e have extra hands at teh yard so hopefully they will all be done by midday. The ponies are a poo prolific lot.. were getting 3 bloomin great barrows- full heaving ones - a day from their herd alone let alone the rest of them on top, this afternnon I thought Id have to do two trips from their field to the muck heap as the barrow was heaped right up to the brim, if only they pood gold wed be worth a fortune :D All residents are well, Willow has mended beautifully and is sound as an old school bell, hes a tough cookie as are all Exmoor ponies. The old boys were ready for their rugs mid-afternoon, the wind is blowing colder and from the North-west and their is some talk of sleet tonight. I hope not, I was just thinking how very nice the weather has been and how its delaying the winter proper. On Sunday we welcome our latest intake, an old boy of 26 years named Jasper. Many many years ago we had another Jasper, long gone now so itll be nice to see that name figuring again in our list of foster ponies. Our grateful thanks to Judith for sorting him out and offering him short term respite until we can get him from A to B. Our next Trustee meeting is on 23rd November which is a very busy fundraising day too - Bromyard Christmas Lights are turned on and we have our famous stand there all day. We hope the evening meeting will be very relaxing and enjoyable for all attending though I may need nudging if I nod off to sleep :) Grateful thanks today go to Liz for a big bag of used postage stamps, our cache is building again so we hope to raise a few pounds extra this way. Remember the easiest way to donate on the spot is via your Mobile phone. Just text EMWS13 1 and send to 70070 You have just donated £1 to this charity and we thank you very much indeed.
