Ive been in a Rehab Center (CLC - Community Living Center) at the Richmond VA Hospital since my surgery (double ankle fusion) on 1 Oct. I had a double ankle fusion and Im so glad to finally have Ailbe here after 11 days of leaving him with his trainer. He looks a little thinner then normal. He had to see the Vet last Saturday due to his ears, but the Vet found no infection. She wanted to play it safe and put him on medicated ointment for 2 wks and then back to his drops. His weight was the same as last month. The Vet told my daughter he needs to gain more weight. Only the month before I was told his weight was fine. Only difference is his haircut. Hes shaven down for easier maintenance. Ive increased his food and he always leave about a 1/2 cup (1 1/2 cups normally in am and pm -- now up to 2 cups twice a day). He also had grand time playing in red clay soil because he turned into an apricot poodle. The trainer gave him a bath, but he still looks dirty -- LOL Even thou he just had a groom two weeks ago hell have a spa day tomorrow to get cleaned up. Ive started a blog (actually started it when he was a pup and forgot about it for 2 yrs now). Ill be writing our daily routine (not much there), but Ill try to do photos that do justice.. The internet is slow here and so I had to change the pixels for it to just work to load online... So, if you want to join in our Service Poodle Adventures then go too - sirailbe.blogspot/ I would love to hear your comments as I go thru the next three months of living in a hospital setting. Ailbe is so content and the only reason is because hes glued to me. Hes enjoying doing his job... Right now its mainly the pickup and retrieve since all of his mobility work is on hold till I can stand on two feet once again.
