Ive been looking for a year - and I do mean a solid year - for a piece of amber big enough for me to work with. Because its been so hard to find a raw piece of it, Ive incorporated several baltic amber beads onto some of my other stones. One of my people finally got a hold of some black amber. 3 pieces, to be exact, and I bought them all. Its not like working with stones because it isnt a stone; its tree resin. If the pliers slip or press into it, a piece of amber is now not connected to the rest of it. If I press the wire too hard into it, its marked. If one wire going behind another wire scratches it, its carved and gone. If my hands get to hot, its sticky. Im keeping this one - its my favorite piece yet. Amber is a key to ancient knowledge and can stimulate the remembrance of ones lineage and the genetic lessons and experiences passed down from ones ancestors. It carries the vibration of organic life, perhaps because it came from living trees, and has always been valued for its healing qualities. It helps increase general vitality and energy levels. It assists energetically in drawing out infection and preventing infection from occurring. Amber has strong connections with the earth and is a grounding stone for higher energies. Amber is a powerful healer and cleanser that draws dis-ease from the body and promotes tissue revitalization. It also cleans the environment and the chakras. It absorbs negative energies and transmutes them into positive forces that stimulate the body to heal itself. A powerful protector, it links the everyday self to the higher spiritual reality. It can help counteract suicidal or depressive tendencies.
