Ive been meaning to do a transformation post about my moms horse Tucker aka Jazzy Color. This photo was taken around the time she got him, which is after probably almost a month of putting weight on! He was on an over crowded trailer in a section where a horse had fallen knocking him and another horse down. The driver was a trader who had done business with my old barn owner previously so he stopped to see if she was in a buying mood. Well she made him unload and rest the horses. She fed and watered them as well then bought the three injured horses, probably for more than they were worth. When Tucker fell he went down on top of his butt tucking his pelvis under. He was in bad shape. He had only run a month or so previously. The first few days he refused to eat. He would protect the other 2 making sure they were eating. My mom fell in love and bought him with not even knowing if he was rideable. The barn owner sold him at a loss to my mom. He ended up losing all his hair which freaked her out! His teeth were so bad the vet had to do them in 2 stages. The after pics and a pic of all 3 are in the comments. If it werent for the barn owner her most likely wouldnt be alive today!
