Ive been musing some more (as I definitely should not!) on my story idea in which Bill Malloy is among our intrepid heroes who time-travel to 1840. One thing that Im pretty sure this story would involve is saving Ben Stokes from that rather ghastly self-decapitation under the influence of Judah Zachary! (I want Ben to be still alive when Prof. Stokes gets to 1840, so the Prof can have a nice long talk/historical interview with his ancestor.) The story would also involve Angelique from 1970 (as we know her in the Leviathans sequence, in which shes making a serious effort to move past her obsession with Barnabas) traveling with Barnabas to 1840. I think for whatever reason, his attempts to get into the past fail until he calls on Angelique to help him get there. So in this fan fic version, the Angelique we see in most of the 1840 storyline would be 1840-Angelique-possessed-by-1970-Angelique, just as Barnabas is 1840-Barnabas-possessed-by-1970-Barnabas. One of the things that bugs me most about 1840 is how the Angelique in that storyline has no memory of the storylines that have come before that, in the show, and so she is still exactly where she was back in 1795 in terms of her Barnabas obsession, rather than having gained the wisdom, experience and greater psychological balance that she has in 1970. So -- well, maybe I will resist writing this thing. Maybe.
