Ive been nominated for the ice bucket challenge and heres why Im not doing it: 1. I take an instant dislike to any form of peer pressure outside of, go on, have another pint. 2. I get a rash from Facebook posts that ask me to share if I believe in angels, funny things kids say, cute kittens etc. 3. My ice buckets job is to keep beer cool. I want my ice bucket to focus on its primary job of keeping my beer cold rather than trying to hold down two jobs. 4. Im not a celebrity. 5. The IBC detracts from the noble sport of the wet t-shirt competition and its long tradition. 6. A tiny handful of charities are going to make a fortune from this. Yes, its for charity, youd never guess from most videos. I bet lots of similar charities are going to see a drop in donations whilst this is going on. Im going to donate my IBC money to a similar charity that is probably struggling this month. 7. I live in Northern Ireland, cold and wet isnt a challenge its the default. 8. Im too lazy. 9. My kids would never be able to hold the bucket let alone tip it on my head. If its any consolation, my eldest turned the shower nozzle onto me whilst I was showering him the other day and soaked my jeans. 10. Im a miserable git. My 3 nominations are Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong Un and Bashar Al-Assad.
