Ive been nominated to do the ice bucket challenge by Shona Rogerson, thanks Shona but I hope you don’t mind that I have decided to do something different I am nominating people to pay it forward. Pay it forward started life as a book and then a film and it is now a worldwide, social movement. It begins with doing a favour for someone without any expectation of being paid back. The recipient of that favour then does a good turn for someone else: ideally for three other people. The unconditional favours can be large or small. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. It can just seem that way, depending who you do it for. One of the most important things to remember about Paying it Forward is that it is done with a selfless spirit. This means you help another person (even a stranger) without expecting payment or good deeds in return. As far as the receiver of the money, gift, or good deed is concerned, he or she is only told to – Pay it forward. One act of kindness can radiate out into the world and create a wave of love and kindness. Although I love the positive intention behind the ‘Ice bucket challenge’ I choose to do something else. You don’t need to film this or tell anyone what you have done, just do it. Start a revolution – it begins with you!
