Ive been on an anti-seizure medication since I was initially admitted to the hospital (sept 28,13) I had several seizures right before, and during the time of diagnosis, lasting for maybe a few weeks total. (I never had any seizures my whole life, and havent had any since being on these meds) I am going back to see my neurologists in Boston the end of September and since my recovery is going so well, the are considering taking me off of the anti-seizure meds in 1 year rather than 2, which I am so excited about! My question is for anyone who was also put on anti-seizure meds... I am so excited to be getting off of this medication! BUT my neurologists dont know if I will have more seizures? They dont think so, but dont know for sure. Has anyone else been in this situation? Have you had more seizures after you went off of the medication? Its going to take a few months to slowly ween off, and I will be going down to Boston to go EEGs to make sure things look ok. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks everyone :)
