Ive been out of touch (and will be for a while) for two reasons. My health (#1) and my business (BIG things are happening and BIG decisions need to be made. Life-changing decisions! I have to block out everything and count on my family and God to guide me in the right direction). Ill have an ultrasound tomorrow that I hope will help with some of the health questions. Most people dont understand the way my tumor markers are done. My type of cancer is usually monitored with bloodwork that checks the level of a certain hormone. If that hormone is present at all, even worse in high levels, the cancer has likely returned. I unfortunately have an antibody to that hormone, which makes that critical testing obsolete. It should be 0, mine is currently 167. That means the cancer has returned OR its just my antibodies tricking us. Because they dissected (cut out) many lymph nodes in my neck I often have issues on the right side. Which leaves me and my doctor wondering if everything is still ok when things are swollen. There is nothing I can do about it, I will likely have these issues and the antibodies all of my life he says, but we will be diligent together to make sure we catch it quickly if it returns. With ALL of that said, I am so very very blessed. I know children whose parents have heard, There are no treatments for this type of cancer. I simply cant imagine. Every single day I live with both a great guilt and an even bigger thankfulness that my cancer is so treatable. Please forgive me if I havent gotten back to you. I hope to very soon. For now its doctors, business meetings/decisions and sweet time with my loved ones. Because I have a scar across my neck that reminds me how quickly that can be taken away.
