Ive been posting a lot of goofy stuff lately, but this one is really important to me. Its National Refugee Day. Check it out. As of the end of last year, there are well over 50 MILLION refugees worldwide. There hasnt been this many since WWII. The conflicts of Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan are displacing huge numbers of innocent civilians. On World Refugee Day, 20 June, we honor the strength and resilience of the more than 50 million people around the world who have fled war, persecution and human rights abuses. Let us renew our commitment to end armed conflict, and to help the people who have been forced to flee their homes. Even one family torn apart by war is too many. USA for UNHCR: The UN Refugee Agency
