Ive been pretty silent on the whole Ferguson case, mostly because I never really took the time to gather all the needed information to have an informed opinion. What I do know, however, is that violence should never be looked upon as the first solution to a problem. This applies to the initial shooting of Mr. Brown, and it also applies to the protests occurring in many major US cities tonight. Its okay if you dont agree with the verdict. But looting, assaulting police officers, and burning American flags is not the way to respond. Instead, we should be looking at ways to strengthen ourselves as a community and working for a better tomorrow. It would be the best way to honor Michaels memory and family- rioting does not solve our problems, it only sets us even further back.
