Ive been reading Marcus Grays biography of The Clash The Last Gang in Town and Ive been loving the real stories behind the various members pre-Clash years as opposed the the myth the band and the press created. Ive read everything about the band but this is the first book Ive read that really makes me feel like Im getting the real story and not some revisionist version of their past. The Clash didnt endorse the book, as they seem just as eager to perpetuate the Clash-myth but that makes sense. Not sure Id love a journalist digging into my embarassing, formative teenage years. I was going to include a link to something about the book but found this instead. I love and admire Paul and Mick so much and to see them taking the piss out of themselves and punk is so great to see. Pretty funny.
