Ive been reading thrillers ever since I was a boy and first discovered Sherlock Holmes. Ive always enjoyed watching cops shows and courtroom dramas and heist movies and anything else that offers a fresh electric tingle of excitement. But I discovered today that NONE of those can match the pulse-pounding adrenalin surge of suddenly noticing your cars gas gauge is touching the back of the E, the fuel warning light is on and youve got at least a couple of miles of stop-and-go, 5 oclock traffic to get through before reaching the nearest gas station.
