Ive been reading up on federal issue brogans/bootees lately and it seems like there is a solid amount of documentation as to the number of sewn sole vs. pegged soles purchased and or issued by the US government. What I cant seem to find, and I think it pretty important factor when purchasing brogans, is the number of brogans purchased/issued with or without heel plates. Just to make sure I flipped open echoes of glory before posting and none of the brogans pictured exhibit heel plates. Of course Echoes of glory isnt the most reliable source, but its still one of the few places where reenactors can get a glimpse of multiple pairs original issues brogans
