Ive been researching this story for a couple of weeks. I hope I do everyone justice on this. Gage Hancock-Johnson is a 13yr old boy, terminally ill from an Optic Glioma tumor in his brain. This also significantly reduces his eyesight, though not completely. His one wish in life was to be a Police Officer. Introduce the Bellevue Washington Police Department. Gage was picked up by Police motorcade on Day 1 and transported to Police Headquarters for swearing in. Then he went through a training program at the Police Academy. During the break for lunch, an urgent distress call came from Microsoft about a burglary. Gage and his partner rushed to the scene, where Gage promptly took the lead, shouting Come out with your hands up! After an exhausting day, Gage and his parents were transported to the Bellevue Hotel, where they stayed with full VIP treatment. The next morning, the Police motorcade arrived to pick up Officer Gage. Returning to duty that day, Gage assisted in a variety of Police activities, including a rescue air-flight. At Tours End, Gage went to an induction ceremony, where Bellevue Police Chief Linda Pillo pinned on his badge and swore him in as an honorary Bellevue Police Officer. When asked what was the best part of his 2-Day Watch, he answered Knowing it will last forever... In the darkest days, Brothers and Sisters, know you quietly and thanklessly inspire the hearts of many that youll never hear about. Watch over each other, as people like Gage are following your lead. God bless you, Gage!
