Ive been ruminating on 2014 so far and Ive had a lot more ups than downs, glad to say. And when I think about exactly why that is, it kind of boils down to finally treating fear like the cautionary tale it should be instead of like the reason to not do things. Its seemed like Im jumped headfirst into a lot of decisions this year, but in retrospect, thats just me taking advantage of momentum and what Ive already built upon in the past. For the first time in a long time I have a life I wake up and am excited to be part of. Thats phenomenal. And I know Im in a good place in my head and heart because there aint any sour grapes in my entire basket. Im genuinely excited about the successes of my friends and peers. And I am so lucky to surround myself with people who believe in me as much as I believe in them. I think about people whove inspired me in all walks of life and I keep hearing the same thing over and over, that when youre doing what you love, unapologetically, youve already won. So heres to the rest of this year. Lets make some poetry.
