Ive been sick for over a week now and its given me a chance to experience healthcare in Malaysia. I went to a clinic near our apartment yesterday. I didnt need an appointment and got to see the doctor within minutes. He was very thorough. He asked a lot of questions and checked all my vitals, etc. Very cool guy who spoke English as well. He prescribed medicine made up of herbs, plant extracts and vitamins and the meds were given to me at the clinic. The visit and medicine combined only cost 40rm (which is about $13). Seriously! $13 to have a doctors visit and all medicine combined, quickly and efficiently in one unscheduled visit, and this is WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE! Wow!! Im very impressed:)
