Ive been so busy over the last few weeks I missed this among my emails! Ooops. Do you remember the pictures we shared a while ago of the cot bumper made from cushions? This is the reply we have received from the company in question, Verbaudet. What do you think? Dear Mrs Knight First of all, I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your baby grandson last September. It must be a difficult time for you and your family as you approach the first anniversary. I wish you and your family well. I am very grateful for you getting in touch with Vertbaudet UK about this matter. Vertbaudet works with the French association, “Naitre & Vivre”, which, amongst other matters, fights against the unexpected death of infants and supports grieving parents. We have worked with that association for a while now and have reviewed products with them (resulting in certain products being withdrawn from sale from time to time even where the products complied with all applicable safety standards). As far as we are aware, there have been no incidents caused by cot bumpers in France. All our products are strictly controlled and must conform to our high level of safety requirements. All our cot bumpers conform to BS 1877 British Standard (Specification for Bumpers). Also, with the help of ”Naitre & Vivre” in France, we provide very careful advice to customers against any risk to babies (to prevent injury or accident), e.g. we add a specific note in all our cot bumper packs explaining that customers should double-check cords and attachments. However, following receipt of your email, we will review our UK labelling to see if there is even more we can do for safe use. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Kind regards Michelle Ramirez Vertbaudet UK Brand Manager
