Ive been spinning poi for 12 years now (Im not as old as that makes me sound) and Im finding Im having a bit of an issue learning a lot of these tech moves. When I first started spinning they didnt exist, I moved away from my fire collective for about 5 years. Not being too computer savvy I wasnt on youtube so I didnt catch the tech revolution. I find that I have one hell of a time re-training how I spin to pick up even the simpler tech moves. Any advice? Spinning the way I do is second nature to me and I dont even have to think about moves or transitions when I spin. I cant seem to make my body do orbitals, hyperloops, and pendulums make my brain go spazzy. Anyone else here had this problem? I find Im losing my inspiration for poi because I cant seem to master these new moves or learn very well from videos.
